Kristen Deuzeman, C.Psych
Psychologist & Clinic Director
Hello, I’m Kristen, a Registered Clinical and Organizational Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and the founder of THRIVE. My approach to therapy is grounded in compassionate, evidence-based care, that is tailored to the unique challenges my clients face. Equipped with undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and counselling from the University of Ottawa, and post-graduate studies at Concordia University in psychological assessment, I assess, diagnose and treat people who seek to improve their mental wellbeing. I am keenly interested in organizational psychology. As such, I help improve employee wellbeing and performance through corporate training and consulting, assessments, coaching. A former professor of psychology at Algonquin College, Lambton College and Concordia University and current corporate trainer for the ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership, I promote exploration, self-awareness, and continuous learning as integral factors for improving and maintaining individual and organizational resilience. I have also worked extensively in disaster and emergency management; developing and delivering training to first responders and leading teams of responders during some of Canada’s worst disasters including the Wabasca Fires (2015), Horse River Fire (2016), Alberta Spring Flooding (2018), and the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021). As a result, I have firsthand insight into the workplace culture and high-stakes situations faced by first responders and frontline workers. I understand the toll these experiences can take, and I’m here to help. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, struggling with the weight of your work, or simply looking for support, I am here to help.

Jane Allen, MC, B.Eng, MBA, C.Psych
Psychologist
Hi, I’m Jane, a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). I work with both couples and individuals, helping them navigate challenges in relationships, career struggles, life transitions, and emotional well-being. In my work with couples, I support those facing relationship dissatisfaction, conflict, infidelity, and differences in sexual desire. For individuals, I help those struggling with anxiety, depression, and feeling stuck - whether due to career frustrations, fear of change, or a lack of meaning in life. My goal is to provide hope, insight, and a fresh perspective to every client. I take the time to find the right approach for each person, ensuring therapy feels like a good fit. My path to becoming a psychologist was a second career. I originally earned a B.Sc. in Engineering and an MBA, but my passion for helping people find clarity and fulfillment led me here. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about your next steps, I’d love to help you find a way forward.

Amber Brown, MACP
Registered Psychotherapist
Hi, I’m Amber, a Registered Psychotherapist and trauma therapist with a deep commitment to helping individuals of all ages navigate the emotional weight of trauma and life’s challenges. My approach is compassionate, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. I specialize in working with first responders, veterans, and survivors of sexual assault, but I also recognize that trauma comes in many forms. It’s not just about major events, it can stem from childhood bullying, self-esteem struggles, divorce, harassment, grief, childbirth, or significant life transitions. No matter what your experience looks like, your pain is valid, and healing is possible. In therapy, I provide a safe and supportive space where we can explore your experiences, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. My goal is to help you reframe negative thoughts, strengthen self-worth, manage anxiety and depression, and move forward with confidence. I also have a deep understanding of child and adolescent development, helping young clients process identity struggles, family changes, bullying, and social isolation. By fostering self-esteem and emotional wellness, I support children and teens in developing the confidence to navigate their world. Beyond my work as a therapist, I’m passionate about mental health advocacy and raising awareness of trauma’s impact on well-being. When I’m not in session, I enjoy athletics, reading, and spending time with my young family - experiences that shape both my personal and professional growth. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I’d love to support you.

Nicole Rickard
Administrative Assistant
Hi, I'm Nicole, the administrative assistant for Kristen Deuzeman and Thrive Psychological Services! I'm currently a student of web development at Algonquin College, but I have plenty of prior experience (personal and educational) studying mental health as I've worked to increase my own sense of well-being. That passion for mental wellness translates to my job as I prioritize being a welcoming and supportive first point of contact for all clients of our clinic. I will often be the first person you speak with whenever you call or email our clinic. It's my priority to respond to all messages in a timely manner, and to follow through with each client request to ensure you get the assistance you need, whether you're looking to book your very first appointment or have been seeing us for a long time already. Oftentimes, my job entails matching you with the practitioner at our clinic that I think best meets your needs, but when there's something I can do directly you can bet I'll do my best to help! Aside from my current studies in web development, I also have an eclectic history studying forensic science, anthropology, social sciences, and even veterinary medicine. I love to learn and I enthusiastically bring that passion for education to my work as an administrative assistant. I look forward to speaking with you and helping to support your ongoing mental wellness journey!
